Bandang Flooding Relief Effort

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018  Dompet Dhuafa team has arrived at the location of the Bandang flooding incident in West Java. The results of the interim report are as follows:

Types of Events: Flash floods and landslides
Event Time: Tuesday 6 November 2018 at 05.00 WIB
Location of Events: Cipatujah sub-district & Karang Nunggal sub-district
Cause of Event: Heavy rain

Impact: the inundation of landslides at residential areas causing considerable damage including Cipatujah bridge which interrupted road access and affected the following villages:  ciandum, ciheras, cipanas, pametingan and sukahurip.

Death tolls:
1 man found in Nagrog Village of Cigaru

1 body of a woman is found in the hood

Bodies awaiting identification:
2 at Karangnunggal sub-district

1  at culamega village

2 at village of bantar kalong

3 at cinta bodas

Potential Future Disasters: it is feared that if rain continues, the area will be flooded and  additional landslides will occur.

1. Establish a relief post
2. Coordinate with the local authorities.
