Cut Zurnita Madjidji, Executive Director

Cut Zurnita is a native of Medan, Indonesia. She joined Dompet Dhuafa USA as Board Secretary back in 2016. Cut Zurnita was transitioned to a leadership role and was appointed as Executive Director in July of 2018. She previously worked at Quality Progressions SCO Supports Coordinator Nonprofit organization which monitor agencies for people with disabilities as Supports Coordinator. Cut Zurnita is committed to providing support and resources for communities in need.  As executive director, she hopes to empower our community members. Nita received her B.A. in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University. Her favorite quote is “The real road of compassion, that is, giving, helping, assistance and community service, is a road that can be set and declared as your life’s purpose” by Byron Pulsifer

Emil Ranakusuma, Chairman

Emil received his BA in Marketing from Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia in 1998 and MBA in Marketing from Cleveland State University in 2002. Emil worked in various industries such as retail, advertising, and marketing research in the United States and Indonesia in various positions as Retail Manager, Account Manager, and Research Manager, respectively for over 7 years. After gaining years of experience from working as an employee, Emil decided to start his own business and became an entrepreneur in 2007 as a Subway Franchisee. Emil received a recognition for “Outstanding Street Fighting Efforts and Promotion of the Brand” several years by Subway. Emil is very excited to join Dompet Dhuafa USA because he want to create a social business that can benefit communities around the world. He believes that, “The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.”

Lisna Utami Harjianto, Board Member

Lisna currently works with Department of State – State of Delaware in the area of market intelligence and economic development. She received her degrees from Bandung Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, and University of Delaware. As part of our Board, she hopes to manage the goals of Dompet Dhuafa in the United States – moving forward and up, and creating impact (directly as well as indirectly) to our communities locally and globally. Her favorite quote, we rise by lifting others.

Haryo Mojopahit,  Board Member

Haryo Mojopahit is a current Board Member, former Executive Director and founder of Dompet Dhuafa USA. Haryo received his Bachelor’s Degree in Indonesian History from Universitas Indonesia and Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. As he founded Dompet Dhuafa USA, he decided to pursue a second Master’s in Non-Profit Management specializing in Social Impact and Organizational Leadership. During his tenure as Executive Director he was passionate in applying what he learned to build an organization that’s sustainable and has impact in the community in which it serves. In addition to developing the curriculum for the Islamic Saturday School, Haryo also led a lot of initiatives for Dompet Dhuafa USA focusing on the importance of providing Indonesian cultural workshops such as Batik & Ankglung, partnering with other community organizations, the local School District & Universities. He returned to Indonesia in the summer of 2018 and now serves as Dompet Dhuafa’s Director of Advocacy and Strategic Alliance. 

Ratu Vanda Wardani,  Board Member

Ratu Vanda Wardani joined Board of Directors of Dompet Dhuafa USA in July 2018. She is currently the Chairman of Al-Nur Foundation in Bogor, Indonesia that runs five schools from kindergarten through high schools. She serves as a committee member of Indonesian Muslim Society in North America Sisters responsible for managing sisters weekly Quran online classes, and also an active volunteer in her local communities. Vanda is also a homemaker who homeschools her four boys. After graduating from Bogor Agricultural University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business, she joined her husband migrating to the USA.
