Ambulance for Palestine
During the recent unfortunate events in Gaza, Palestine, Dompet Dhuafa’s Ambulance was hit by a missile. Not only the ambulance, but buildings, hospitals, schools, and masjid were also destroyed.
A couple of the members of the medical team were seriously injured inside the ambulance when it was hit by the missile. The ambulance front side was severely damaged by the hit. The ambulance is no longer able to operate and serve the Palestinian community in these horrific times.
According to the latest data from Dompet Dhuafa’s emergency team in Gaza as of July 22, 2024, the situation is dire:
- 378,848 lives have been lost.
- 89,459 people have been injured.
- 1,700,000 people have been displaced.
- 360,000 homes have been affected.
The healthcare system in Gaza has lost 70% of its bed capacity, as reported by the Ministry of Health. Efforts to rehabilitate essential medical services in northern Gaza are ongoing, but the volume of medical supplies entering Gaza is insufficient to sustain the healthcare response. Additionally, all medical evacuations outside Gaza have been halted, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
We are raising funds to acquire a new ambulance that will operate in Gaza, Palestine. The ambulance was regularly used to provide medical assistance to victims in Gaza, including men, women, children, and the elderly. This is an emergency need since these are our brothers and sisters in Palestine who have been suffering, and they need our help now!
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1930, Book 27, Hadith 36)
As the Prophet (SAW) said in the above narration, if we help our brothers and sisters in Palestine, in sha Allah, Allah will indeed relieve our burden in the Hereafter.
