Zakat al-Fitr is not only an obligation to complete our fasting. It is also a reminder that the joy of Eid should be shared by everyone. At its core, it reflects compassion, dignity, and a collective responsibility to care for those in need. 

Embodying this enduring spirit of Islamic brotherhood, Dompet Dhuafa USA has bridged oceans of generosity by channeling Zakat al-Fitr from dedicated donors (muzakki) in the United States to a total of 329 families (mustahik) across multiple provinces in Indonesia. 

Through this trust (amanah), Zakat al-Fitr becomes more than a form of assistance. It becomes a meaningful connection that brings relief, comfort, and hope to many families. 

This year, the distribution focused on meeting essential food needs ahead of Eid. The goal was simple: to help families welcome Eid al-Fitr with a sense of ease, dignity, and gratitude. 

Delivering Relief and Joy Across East Java 

East Java was one of the main areas of distribution, where 166 beneficiaries received support across Madiun Raya, Pacitan, Surabaya, Banyuwangi, Sampang, and Lamongan. 

For many families, this assistance provided reassurance during a time that should be filled with happiness.

Reaching Communities Across Regions 

The distribution also extended to other provinces, reaching communities that needed additional support, including those recovering from recent natural disasters. 

North Sumatra: Support During Recovery 

In Toalang Jae and Toalang Julu, 45 families received Zakat al-Fitr assistance. Many of them were affected by recent flash floods and landslides. 

For these families, the support came at an important time. While they continued their recovery, the assistance helped meet basic needs and reminded them that they were not alone. 

South Sulawesi: Easing the Burden Before Eid 

In Bone, Makassar, and Soppeng, 85 families benefited from the program. The assistance helped reduce financial pressure ahead of Eid, allowing families to focus more on togetherness and worship. 

Riau Islands: Extending Support to Island Communities 

In Karimun Regency, 33 families received Zakat al-Fitr support. This effort reflects a continued commitment to reaching communities across different regions, including those in more remote areas.

Every contribution given by the muzakki is an amanah that is handled with care. Dompet Dhuafa USA is committed to ensuring that Zakat is distributed responsibly, transparently, and in line with Islamic values. 

This initiative is not only about providing aid. It is also about strengthening the sense of unity and compassion within the ummah.
