Because of the high rate of refugee migration to the United States, Dompet Dhuafa USA has opted to hold an Iftar for Refugees program during Ramadan this year. Dompet Dhuafa USA is not alone in this program; we collaborated with Muslim Students Association from Georgetown University and the University of Maryland.
For this program, Dompet Dhuafa USA prepared non-perishable foods and foods commonly consumed by refugees. With the help of volunteers from Georgetown University and the University of Maryland, Dompet Dhuafa USA packed and distributed 200 packs of different food.
According to one of the refugees, this assistance was extremely beneficial to them because the food provided was the same food they ate every day. Not only that, but the refugees thanked the donors who had helped them in their early days in the United States, particularly during Ramadan.
