Sadaqah Braille Qur’an
There are 4,253,200 people, or about 14% of Indonesia’s population, are visually impaired or blind (Source: Indonesian Economic Census, 2018). According to ITMI (Indonesian Muslim Blind Association), the majority of visually impaired Muslims in Indonesia are still illiterate in the Quran.
Additionally, the price of a Braille Quran is quite expensive for most of them at $ 150 per set. Besides the high price, the production of Braille Qurans is still quite limited. According to Ayi Hidayat, the head of the Braille Quran Printing Office, the current production capacity of Braille Qurans is about 100 sets per month.
Based on these facts, Dompet Dhuafa USA has initiated a Sadaqah Braille Quran program to help our visually impaired brothers and sisters learn about their religion. Your sadaqah jariah makes learning Quran and Islam accessible and available for them. Your kindness and care for their needs become a bright light in the darkness they often face.
Let’s come together to brighten the hearts of the visually impaired community by providing Braille Qurans.
