Muslims have an obligation to fulfill after observing 30 days of fasting in the month of Ramadan, namely the Zakat al-Fitr. Zakat al-Fitr, a zakat that every Muslim must pay as a form of gratitude for the blessings of the Ramadan fasting and as a form of self-cleansing from sins and mistakes committed during the month of Ramadan.

Dompet Dhuafa USA has the Tebar Zakat Fitrah (TZF) program, which distributes Zakat al-Fitr from donors to eligible communities in Indonesia. Dompet Dhuafa USA has collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa branches all over  Indonesia to distribute Zakat al-Fitr in Ramadan of 2023. We provided Zakat al-Fitr distribution in the provinces of North Sumatra, Riau, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.

This year, Dompet Dhuafa USA collected Zakat al-Fitr of $10,167.48 which was distributed to 2,721 beneficiaries families. The families of the TZF program include the elderly, Quran teachers, and farmers who find it difficult to meet their daily needs.

This year, the Zakat al-Fitr that we distributed was in the form of rice and money. We hope that through this TZF program, the impoverished communities in Indonesia were able to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with happiness.

As always, we give our gratitude to the donors who continue to entrust us with their Zakat al-Fitr. We will continue to improve our services to serve our beneficiaries as well as our donors according to Islamic guidelines.
